Collect current URLs from the sitemap, analytics and backlink reports. Mark which pages stay, move or disappear. Preserve established addresses when the topic remains the same.
Create a one-to-one redirect map for moved pages. Redirect to the most relevant replacement, not every old address to the homepage. Update internal links and canonicals to the final destination.
Crawl the new site and a sample of old URLs after launch. Check redirect loops, chains, missing pages and accidental noindex rules before treating the migration as finished.
